Reusable Shopping Bags: Reduce, Recycle, Reuse!

Emily Chen

Paper Mart has a large selection of reusable shopping bags. We carry styles sold individually, by the package, and even by the case! Check out our canvas style tote bags that are sturdy and roomy, which is great for carrying heavy items. We also have biodegradable reusable fabric bags sold by the package or case. Packages are the perfect size for an individual who has a cart full of groceries. Odds are that you will need several bags to carry out all of your items. We also carry these bags by the case; this allows you to split with friends and family! It would be handy to carry some burlap or canvas storage baskets in your trunk as well. These large natural basket bags are made of high quality material and will help to keep items from sliding around in the trunk of your car. This way you can breath a little easier when going over speed bumps and making turns. Californians might be the ones feeling the wrath of the plastic bag ban, but citizens of other states beware – it could happen to you too! And even if it’s not, we encourage you to consider stocking up on reusable shopping bags since they are in fact environmentally friendly and much sturdier than most regular store bags. Reusable Shopping Bags: Be Prepared for the Plastic Bag Ban Alright California, it’s happening. The plastic bag ban is starting to take effect already! Get prepared with reusable shopping bags. If you have been to the store since the election, you may have had a quick, bolting shock run through your body when you heard, “do you want to buy a bag for 10 cents?” What? No! Come to find out, if you don’t buy a bag or if you haven’t brought your own, you will either be this person walking out of the store, or you will have to pack your car and go over speed bumps and turn – VERY carefully. If you opt to buy a bag, 10 cents can add up very quickly, especially if you have a cart full of items. In this case, bringing your own bag is probably the most appealing option (not to mention, the most cost-effective in the long run). If you start bringing your own reusable shopping bags to the store, you will save money. Don’t be that guy carrying all of your items under your chin! At some stores, you might even get a credit for bringing your own bag! (We suggest you ask the cashier- doesn’t hurt, right?)
